X220 new Intel video driver makes permanent antialiasing

#1 Post by Puppy » Thu Apr 11, 2013 7:20 am

For those who are not able to use any kind of antialiasing especially on low resolution displays X220 have. I use Windows Classic theme and have ClearType disable in Performance options.

After video driver update from version 8.15.10.2769 to 9.17.10.2843 I noticed the text (and other graphics) is blurry as it was antialiased but in a different way than Windows does. I checked all settings and everything seem to be ok. It must be applied on driver or hardware (display controler) level because it affects everything that is displayed including virtual machines output. On the other hand digital output to external monitor is not affected. There is report including pictures http://communities.intel.com/message/189854

The only way to get rid of it is to revert back to old version 8. Has anyone else noticed that ? Since there is minority of people who are sensitive to all these blurriness I don't expect it will be fixed or investigated :?
