Buying display for X220

Hi all,

As my lid and display on one of my X220's is busted, I need a new one.

What should i go for? Any particular good examples, and any particular places to buy?
As I'm from Denmark, I'm looking to buy from either Germany or the UK, as it's fastest and cheapest shipping.

My budget is quite low, so I'm looking for the cheapest display available, without compromising the quality.

I'd really appreciate, if someone could give me some input on what I should be going for. I'm most likely going to order the new display tonight, and It'd be a shame if I just went with the cheapest cr*p, which I'll probably end up doing with no answers.

Sorry to hear of your display. Did your ThinkPad fall or was there some other dastardly deed worked upon it.

Look up your ThinkPad's parts list with your serial number. There you will find the part number of your LCD. Then search for that part number.

That is what I would do.

Hi, thanks for replying!

Sadly I already tried the FRU numbers, but only gives me OEM replacements with glossy displays :/


I'm not sure how it happened, as I bought it dirt cheap. But it has got a crack in the LID, and a pressure'ish mark the same place. Like if it has been slammed against the edge of a table or something, in a rush maybe.

I didn't think the X220 offered a glossy display and have never seen an X220 with a glossy display.

Oh well, I ended up ordering the cheap one. I'll let you know about the quality of the image and the display once I recieve and install it.
