X230 Keyboard in X220? (blasphemy)

I know there has been quite a bit of discussion on transplanting the X220 keyboard into the X230, which seems to work fine except for the 7th row being mapped in the BIOS.

What I'm curious about is if you can go the other way. I've been temporarily using a X230 for a little while, and actually really like the new style. In terms of actually upgrading however there is a pretty big price difference in the used market between the two, so I'm wondering if I could put the new style keyboard in a X220.

I apologize if this offends anyone

Different BIOS mapping will produce dead keys and some "wrong" ones...

I've got half a dozen X201T's and an X230T. I also prefer the new keyboard. Feel is equal. I don't use the missing 7th row of keys.

I love the backlight on the X230T keyboard. I love having the "Delete" key isolated at upper right.

I converted from the X201T to the X230T in August, 2012. I've been a ThinkPad user since 1995.
