X200 - Power problem

Suddenly my X200 starts to act up. The power and battery LEDs are still on, but I can't turn on the machine using the power button. Unplugging the AC cord will boot the machine on battery, but it shows the POST screen then immediately shuts down.
By unplugging the battery and booting up with the AC cord only, I can get into my OS (Linux) but then after ~10 minutes it suddenly shuts down - the weird thing is it doesn't shut down abruptly, like when you hold down the power button, but it shuts down like I initiate it from inside the OS. Doing the 30-second power button trick doesn't seem to help.
What's going on with my machine?

I think I would send the machine to Lenovo for checking up tomorrow, although it is already out of warranty. However I have a plan B, if the repairing price is too high, I would purchase an X200s board and retrofit it into the X200 chassis, as I always prefer to use ULV CPUs. Anyone can tell me if this is going to work?

I don't think I'll be of much help, but I had a resembling issue with my T60. Tunred out that the keyboard, where the power switch is located, was failing. After a replacement, everything went smoothly again.

Could be - because I set my Arch setup to shutdown after ~2 seconds of holding the power button (not hard shut down) and it shuts down automatically this way.
Lenovo charges 50 SGD for a diagnosis so screw them, I think I'll pick up a good keyboard and replace it by myself.

Weird things happened today. Last night I removed the battery and AC cord, this morning the machine booted up and ran perfectly for the whole day, until tonight when it suddenly shut down as above again, then booted up by itself, then powered down again. After a while I booted up, beeped error 0254 then shut itself down, only to rebooted with error 0253. What's going on?

The machine now runs fine on battery, but with AC power it shuts down after a while...maybe I'll test it on another adapter to see how it goes

If it's not the keyboard or the adapter, then the motherboard maybe... it that would be costly to repair (better get another machine).
