Reset Power-on and Supervisor Passoword? Fingerscanner works

I am able to enter bios settings and boot my computer without any problems -- using the finger print scanner.

The supervisor password and poweron password has been long forgotten. I only recently realized I forgot the password when I tried to register the fingers of my family member to use the computer.

Their finger prints can be registered but they need a power-on password to boot the power-on password.

The question is:

how to reset/find Power-on and Supervisor Passoword if I am able to enter bios and boot the computer?

You'll have to remember the Supervisor password or replace the board...

Additionally, the discussion of password removal/subversion is NOT allowed by the forum rules.

I can use my X220 without any problems -- using the finger print scanner.

It is only when I need to add more users to the computer, that I realize I need to find the forgotten password.

Now I am running Win7 and has no problems logging into it, so I am a legitimate user.

Is there any way to reset power-on password from windows?

Yes. Pulling out the CMOS battery will reset the POP BUT will also activate the Supervisor password and lock you out of the machine.

Just use as-is until you remember the password...

Good luck.
