Fn + F12 failure on X300

My X300, running XP SP3, seems to work file except that I have lost the ability to go into hibernation by pressing Fn + F12.

I have configured Power Manager to put the machine into hibernation when I close the lid and this still works fine.

I think the problem arose a while ago when, foolishly, I downloaded and installed the latest version of Power Manager from Lenovo. I quickly discovered that some element in the new version of PM was trying to call home at frequent intervals and rolled back to the previous version.

As I said, hibernation works fine but not the Fn + F12 instruction. I'm guessing that this is a mapping issue but have no idea where to look.

Any ideas?

I want to say that most/if not all those types of functions are mapped through the BIOS. Have you looked around in there to check?

This problem is now fixed. Somewhere on the Lenovo site I found a note that Lenovo Power Management (PM) Drivers are required to enable this function so I downloaded & installed the latest (1.67) version. The Fn + F12 now starts the hibernation process, as it used to.
