There is one thing that again and again drives me crazy with my X201t and that is, when I re-connect the device to the docking station (which is connected to a large external screen), be it in sleep-mode or while running, it will not recognize the external screen. Or rather: it at first DOES recognize the external screen, it even shortly shows the desktop on it in full resolution as it should, but after 10 seconds or so, it will switch that external screen dark. And worse, it not only switches the external screen off, it also does NOT switch back to the internal screen! Rather I then sit there without any display at all! And this is reproducible! I can disconnect (the internal screen comes back on), I reconnect (the external screen comes up again, but after 10 seconds it goes dark again and I have no display at all again).
Meanwhile I know the key-combination to bring back the display on the built-in internal screen, but there seems no way, to re-establish a *staying* display on the external screen without rebooting the system.
Any idea, why this is so? Is there some way to reset or restart the display driver without having to reboot the entire system?
This is on a T201t under Windows 8.
