(Solved) Memory recommendations for Thinkpad x200

#1 Post by zogthegreat » Mon Jul 08, 2013 7:23 pm

Hi everyone,

I just acquired a Thinkpad x200s and I need to purchase memory for it. Are there any recommended brands that people can suggest? I have read that Thinkpad X200s's can have problems with Crucial and Corsair memory, 2 of my favorites : (

Any suggestions would be appreciated

I found the Lenovo recommended 55Y3708 on Ebay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/51J0494-55Y3714 ... 2eb4d05265

good price, 27.50 a chip.
Intel DP55Kg, i7 870, Thinkpad X230 Tablet, Dell Latitude E5410, Thinkpad X201, (dedicated for network security/penetration testing), Thinkpad T60, Thinkpad x61 Tablet, Thinkpad X61 laptop, new project toy = ) , Thinkpad X61 motherboard, configured as firewall/router/vpn

I'm not to picky on memory brand or even speed. I'd pick the cheapest name brand memory in the capacity that you need.

edit - I wouldn't trust the no name memory you linked to. $54 for 2x4 GB module is only about $10 less than a good name brand memory from Memory Express which is 15 min away from my house with a warranty.
