I installed the Sierra MC7305 on my X301, I can it appear on Windows 7 Device Manager, but I can't see the WWAN option on "FN+ F5".

May I know how can I enable WWAN on X301?

Many Thanks!

You might have to go into BIOS and enable it. It's under Config/Network.

I always do clean Win 7 installs and never install Access Connections but found the WWAN card in my x301 required Access Connections for the card to work, including the Fn+F5 function.

If you want fn+f5 to work you need to install Power Manager.

I checked the BIOS config/Network setting, it has Wifi/Wimax enable setting only, it turned on.

I'm pretty sure it was Power Manager that you needed as I had the same issues on my x301 with getting the fn keys to work - you have got the Hotkeys program? and Hotkeys are enabled?

I went back and checked my notes the three I had written down:-
1. Power management driver
2. System interface driver
3. Hotkey utility

You don't need AC to run the WWAN card as I run it without that - however it doesn't seem to work as well as it did when I had AC but that may just be down to something else I just haven't the time to investigate it.

Let windows take care of it. I assume you can turn on the WWAN card. Then go to the icon in the lower right corner it will display the network your sim card logs onto. Enter the APN, username and password and off you go - not sure if windows did this automatically.
