Does my THinkpad x200 has a SD card reader?

Hi, I bought a Thinkpad x200 (7457-4ac) off Craigslist. It has a slot for the SD card reader on front of the laptop. I never test it when I bought it. Inserting a SD card is not recognized by VIsta. It is not listed under Device Manager either. If I push a SD card in there, there a spring that keep the card in.. Is the card reader a FRU that I can get off ebay? tx

It should have a card reader. Did you try installing the drivers for it? If I recall correctly, the card reader for the X200 sits on a separate sub card that plugs into the motherboard. You should be able to pick one up on eBay and swap it out if it's not working.

This is the driver you need:
http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail. ... MIGR-70476
Two things:
-this driver may not install automatically after downloading; note where it was extracted to and run manually.
-the card reader will not be seen in Device Manager until a card is inserted
on a Win 7 x201s it shows up under Disk Drives
