The mouse pointer starts moving like crazy as soon as I put my finger on the trackpad. On Windows with the Synaptics touchpad driver is somewhat tolerable, but the problem still persist at centain times and spots on the trackpad (specially when I have the AC connected). The thing is that Windows is totally useless for me, I need GNU/Linux for work.

Do you use both?

Currently only have Windows installed. The thing is that the trackpad is unusable on GNU/Linux and I don't have any use for Windows so the machine pretty much is a an expensive paperweight. So, no, I would use only GNU/Linux.
My problem basically is the same as the one showed at this video
http://youtu.be/zEiDilk0yGY That's how it behaves on Windows, under GNU/Linux is much much worse.

So it's an electrical interference thing from the mains? I wonder if the trackpad sensitivity is configurable under Linux.

Try swapping the power adapter.

This touchpad firmware update may help; even if u are not using the specified slim ac adapter.
