Brightness control problems

Hello,

Just bought an secondhand x201.
It has been restored to factory settings by to previous owner.
I installed the hotkey's driver in cluding the patch from the enovo site to get the OSD for brightness and volume.
But now when using the brightness function keys, the brightness jumps up or down per 2% and not per 1%.
Did a google search but find only possible solutions under linux and ubuntu?

The model number of the x201 is 3680-HE3 running on W7 64bit prof.

Hope somebody has a solution...

Thx

I don't have an X201 (yet) but I don't think that the brightness control is designed anywhere near 2% steps. That would mean you would have 50 individual levels of brightness. I can see where it might have 10 to 15 steps (7% to 10% increments).

Full brightness = 15
Lowest = 2

So should I read the OP as saying that the "bars" on the screen are changing two at a time?

Probably not. There is a bar graph, like a Windows file transfer progress window, not individual bar icons as with older versions.
Down goes: 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 9, 7, 5, 2.
Up goes: 2, 4, 7, 9. 11, 12, 13, 14, 15.

Depending on where the auto dimming amount is set, the missing numbers above may appear.

To me they just look like arbitrary numbers.

Yes, exactly these numbers appear on screen when increasing or decreasing brightness using the brightness control buttons (FN-UP/END). On my X61 they count "normal" up and dont "jump" numbers.
Maybe they dont represent a percentage but I would except the OSD to follow all the 15 (Lowest 2 highest 15) different brightness steps and not jumping steps. I also have the feeling that the actual brightness jumps with biggers steps than that I am used to see on my older X61.
As I have 2 X201's ( dont ask, long story!) I can compare their "behavior". But first I have to replace the motherboard on the other X201.

Rgds

Second X201 up and running and it does the same...so it looks like normal?
