Right Angle Power Adapter

#1 Post by t20user » Mon Jan 27, 2014 11:56 am

I am looking for a power adapter to convert the power cord to right angle into my x201. This one seems kind of pricy but is the only one I could find. Has anyone tried one or something similar?

Had the same idea several years ago and tried one (same brand) – for about two weeks.
If you plan to use it with the x201 on a desk so the cable routes to the rear, it works pretty well.

But if it’s on your lap, the adapter rotates down and you have a heavy, 2” hunk of plastic hanging off the DC jack – including the ferrite, 40g.
The normal plug puts almost no strain on the laptop's DC jack and is much less intrusive.

Also used it to route the DC cable to the right on a rarely moved x301 but, with the slightest movement, it would fall out.

In theory a good idea, but....
