Hi i recently bought a thinkpad x200, and ran into some problems.

It started when i updated the bios, and after it takes from 10-30min for the thinkpad logo comes up on the screen.

Then i read that updating the AMT should fix that problem, but when i download the new version and follow the readme, i end up getting a error in the commandprop that says "FWUpdLcl.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program of batch file" And now im stuck :( .

I have also tryed to disable ATM in the bios but that did not change anything.

Sorry for my bad english.

I bought an second hand x201 which had a similar problem...it took long to boot up/hanging for a couple of minuts before the windows log-on screen would appear.
It also got very very hot on the LH lower side. I never received a msg from windows but the laptop would get so hot that it was unpleasant to hold it there or keep it on your lap.
Plus that the machine refused to come out sleep mode and would not completely shut-down. Fan keept running even when it was shutdown from time to time.
Unable to update/install the Intel AMT drivers and in the device manager they appeared as being not installed.
After a BIOS update it got from bad to worse...as now I could still get into the BIOS but it would freeze there and I could not make any alterations in the BIOS. Reflashing the BIOS would not solve any of the problems...
I believe I had a combination of problems and it made me buying a refurbished motherboard for this laptop...

Doing a search on the web produced some story's of people experiencing similar problems on the X200/201...

Good luck...
