Anybody using one of these things in their X301.... or any machine for that matter? Thoughts on how effective it was/is?

I bought several T61 machines dirt cheap because they wouldn't boot.
After removal of their bad/non-working Turbo Cache card, all machines performed perfectly!
Ever since, I remove any of those cards before I even start working on a laptop.
They mostly are faulty, and if they do work, they do little to nothing to improve anything.
Big waste of money if you ask me.

Got a few Turbocards that came with various machines. Found they were useless at best and faulty most of the time. All my system have a SSD and a turbocard did nothing for it. Turbo cards was Intel's transition technology until SSD became more mature and mainstream. The SSD is definitely that now.

I had read that in most cases, they slowed down the machine unless they were reconfigured. However, after reading one response from a guy who reconfigured his for use by Windows to makes it many small writes, I was curious if anyone here has been doing anything with them. I've never had a machine with one, as we were pretty "early adopters" of SSDs.

The last time I had one of those was in a X61T and couldn't tell the difference...loaded drivers just fine, seemed to be working but what exactly it was doing - if anything at all - remained a mystery to me.

All I know is that my T61 runs faster with XP and disabled Turbo Memory than it ran on Vista with Turbo Memory.
