Bluetooth headset keeps disconnecting

#1 Post by phil81uk » Tue Feb 25, 2014 7:08 am

I was using a Bluetooth Headset (Jawbone Era) with my X301. I then had to reformat my machine with a fresh Windows install and since then the headset won't work with the laptop. The two have paired, and the headset appears as a device and says that the drivers have been installed. If I go to "view bluetooth devices" the headset shows with its brand name.

But the headset almost immediately disconnects. It might show as a connected device for a few seconds. When I switch on the headset I get a notification from the tray to say that the headset has connected. And then it immediately disconnects and disappears from the list of connected Bluetooth devices.

I've downloaded the latest Bluetooth Drivers. I've unpaired and repaired the devices. I've done a hard reset of the headset. I've tried all these things at least twice.

Anything else to try?

Did you have different drivers or OS before the reformat?
If so (or not), try other/older drivers.

Before the reformat I just had the standard Windows supplied drivers. After the reformat I used the Windows supplied drivers, but then tried the Lenovo supplied drivers. Lenovo System Update wasn't even finding any Bluetooth drivers. Maybe because it saw that windows had already installed them.

I've also contacted the headset manufacturer for advice.

I will try older drivers, thanks for the suggestion.

Bluesoleil bluetooth stack fixed the problem.
