just bought one of these without harddrive does it take a sata drive ? and can anyone point me to an ISO of the recovery disks thanks

Yes, it will take any 9mm or 7mm Hard drive/SSD
For recovery discs I would put a WTB in the Marketplace thread in this forum.

as i am in New Zealand thought an electronic ISO would be easier and cheaper lol

You can get Windows 7 installation disc ISOs completely legally from Microsoft's DigitalRiver site. You will need to provide your own Windows 7 license key, but the installation media is separate from this.
