x200 screen upgrade

#1 Post by natty_king » Mon Apr 07, 2014 5:05 pm

Hi guys,

First time poster here. I've owned my x200 for a little while, use it for uni etc, docking station connected to a monitor at home. I've made a few tweaks, installed ssd and dual boot it.

The only problem i have is that the screen resolution isn't great, and it's not IPS. Is there a screen that fits which is IPS and a higher res?

Cheers in advance

Nope, there is no IPS for this model AFAIK. There are very nice and bright AFFS panels you can mod your X200, but they're still 1280x800

Some X200s models came with 1440x900 resolutions screens. I tried once swapping a complete assembly from one of my X200s into my X200 and it didn't work. I remember some fellows at the German sister forum tried the same and very little of them had success. I'll try to dig the old thread and post it here.

Edit: links (German only)

Ah that's a shame, it would be nice to get a higher resolution as that is the only appeal really for newer x series models (although they have a much longer list of drawbacks..)

Thanks for the info, I might look to fitting an AFFS panel as it's useful when showing material to others.
