Last May I upgraded the hard drive; I put the new drive in a caddy in the Ultrabase and cloned the old drive onto the new; easy-peasy.
After some corrupted files/programs I am no longer confident in the new drives integrity and so I bought another drive to replace it. Not wanting to clone a bad drive onto the new one I retrieved the original drive to re-clone it onto the new drive. And that is where everything came to a screeching halt.
Putting the original drive back into the computer and booting it up I was met with the Fingerprint request, after I swiped my finger a box popped asking me to update the password
I put in my original password but it was not accepted; I am told it is wrong.
So instead of using the fingerprint reader I chose instead to just log in using the password; again it is not accepted, again I am told it is wrong.
The first thought might be that the password is indeed wrong, however the 'hint' given shows it isnt and I still use the same password on the cloned drive I am now seeking to replace.
Now what? Is there any way around this?
There is an option to restore the password but it says I must first have a restore password disc; I never heard of it so I never made one; am I correct in assuming that it is too late now?
TIA
