X220, Win8.1 and mouse cursor "focus"

#1 Post by peraklo » Sun Jun 22, 2014 3:16 am

Ok, due to usage of 8.1 on my desktop, i decided to go that route and install it on my X220. Everything has been working great so far, except for one thing, and i was hoping someone encountered the problem and can offer the solution.

It looks like my mouse cursor looses focus somehow, or is missing somewhere in the invisible layer. This only happens sometimes and i can not pinpoint the reason.

For instance, when i try to choose something from the drop menu on a webpage, i am able to expand the drop menu but unable to select anything from it (i have to tab through the webpage to get to the drop down and select what i want with arrow keys).

Another example, when i play a video file full screen, it sometimes appears as if the cursor is an invisible straight vertical line (if i click anywhere on the video, the movie jumps to the point above which my cursor is located, on the progress bar. I hope i have explained that ok.)

The third example, sometimes i can not get to the Win8.1 menu in the upper right corner (neither i am able to close the window on the X button, i just click on it but nothing happens). Then i have to fiddle arround with opened windows, bring them up to focus, then minimize, or i really dont remember what i do, and suddenly it works again.

All of the above happens both with trackpad/touchpad and with external Logi mouse. Can it be some sort of drivers? something of a software installed (like flash, Lenovo soft, some windows setting)?

thanks
