Troubles with X200 UltraBase

#1 Post by FryPpy » Tue Aug 19, 2014 11:38 am

I have got X200 UltraBase for my Hybrid X201/t. But it is locked and no keys :(
What can i do with this piece of plastic???
Can the DVD-ROM be ejected from locked UltraBase? (I can't - when i slide the latch eject lever doesn't pops out):

I can try to unscrew and disassemble this UltraBase ;)

SELF ANSWER.
I have removed all round stickers EXCEPT 4 (in the wells where the rubber feet of thinkpad are standing - there are no screws here) and unscrewed 16 phillips screws. Then upper plastic plate can be lifted. If you can unscrew the nut on the toe of lock with thin wrench - you are well done. But i have to remove dock main board - 1 black screw + 2 nuts in video connector and 6 connector. Then unscrew nut on keylock. Remove metal toe. And pull arm under the keylock. Then i have removed central element of keylock and rotated it in "open" position (this step is optional). Place metal toe to fixate arm and tighten the nut. Then assemble all parts in backwards order;)

And this is right - when UltraBase is locked DVD-ROM (ultrabay device) can not be ejected.

That's good to know. It probably would have been quicker and easier to just pick the lock, though...
