X220 - WiFi antenna issues

Ok, this will sound like another "the legend of thinkpads" story.
My X220 fell of the roof of my car while driving at around 50mph (80km/h).
I was lucky enough to see it flying behind me through the mirror of my car.
When I picked it up, it had been struck severely on the right corner of the palmrest and the display had been loosen.
However it is working fine (!!!!) with one minor exception: performance of the wireless has been dropped drastically.
(full signal strength before -> just one-two lines now)
I checked the connections on the wifi card (which is located near by the corner that was severely hit), and they were firmly attached.
Then, I checked the antennas under the cover of the LCD monitor and it seems to me the gray antenna wire on the right side,
had been disconnected from the metalic antenna part at the top of the monitor.
I tried to connect them again but with no better result.
Then I tried to reconnect the left antenna, just in case it had loosen, but I think now the signal is even worse.
(I know nothing about antennas)
Anyway, does anyone have any idea how to proceed ?
Should I look for an entirely new set of antennas ?
How much sensitive is the signal to the exact geometry of the antenna ?
Anyway, thanks for your time!
