Graphic card difference between X201 and X201 tablet?

Hello,

Recently bought a X201T, model 3093 W44 with a normal display - only stylus input and no finger nor multi touch.
Running on W7 64bit with 6gig of Ram and a 120Gig SSD from Samsung, it has the i7 L620 CPU.

Comparing it with my other X201 (i5 M560 - W7 64 bit, 6 gigs of ram and a 64gig OCZ Solid 3 SSD) I did notice that the Windows Experience index is much lower on the tablet than on the normal X201. Altough both seem to have the same graphic card the tablet only scores a 3.3 for graphics and gaming Graphis while the X201 scores a 4.4 for graphics and a 5.4 for the gaming graphics...

Also I had now 2x that the tablet crashed while viewing HD video's on you tube. The only way to get going again is to switch it of (forced) as it tries to restart firefox. It just ends up in a loop while restarting firefox altough I have the feeling that the graphic card crashed. Both laptops have the same video drivers and the same display drivers.
In the year that I had the X201 I never had any crashes while watching video's on you tube...
My feeling is that the tablet performs less than the normal X201...

I have now switched off the hardware acceleration in you tube on the tablet...

Would you think that the tablet has some hardware issue's or is this (crashing) just related to bad drivers?

Thanks for your feed back,

Cheers,

Yves

Hello. You are comparing NV (normal voltage) vs LV (low voltage) 1st gen core-i CPUs (not X201 vs X201t).
NV have 500->766(turbo) MHz video core freq.
While LV have 266->566. it is ~ 1/2 slower then NV.

But i have no experience with LV i7 crashes on YouTube videos. I think this is HW, Drivers or Adobe Flash problems.

Another thing: both machines will run warm to hot, the i7 even more.
Check the temperatures, if over 70 oC clean out the fan and/or replace thermal paste between CPU and fan.

Seen other X201T's with the same windows "score" like my tablet.
So the 201 is NV and the 201T is LV or vice versa?

As far I can tell both seem to be running at the same temp, light internet surfing and the CPU is around hight 40's low 50's...
Never had the X201 with the i5 running hot and most of the time I have it on my lap in front of the TV...

As for the crashes...I am sure now that I have some spyware or viruses on the machine as the flashplayer/firefox is playing up all the time. I have this annoying pop-up from PicRec telling me I can call a helpdesk if I have trouble with my computer. At the same time the flashplayer is giving me trouble...coincidence?

Try adwcleaner to get rid of adware and similar junk: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/
followed by combofix from the same address: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/combofix/
and antimalware (update before running) from here: https://www.malwarebytes.org/antimalware/

Yep...done, adwcleaner and malwarebytes I already had on my computer. Combofix was new to me.
I believe that the Avast Online Secuirity add on was giving me a pop up, since deactivating this add on it has been gone. Also it seemed to inhibit my adblock plus add on. Anyway, flash is working and firefox seems to behave.
Future will show if the system is stable or not.

Dump Firefox and replace it with the very similar PaleMoon: http://www.palemoon.org/download-ng.shtml
Much less hassle, and missing all the bloatware FF changes.

Yes X201t and X201s Thinkpads have LV (and some have ULV with 520UM / 620UM).
And all X201 have NV processors.
