First a huge apology; I have not figured out how to navigate this site. I previously posted this issue and some wonderful people suggested how to post start up and running services. When i went back to post this info, my password was not accepted, so I got a new one. I looked for my post using "View your posts" and there were none. In that post I indicated I lack the skill to optimize this used X220 I purchased on Ebay. Two issues beyond my 68 year old non skilled but eager to learn brain!

(1) Under users the previous owner has a folder "Burl". I added mine "Dennis", but cannot delete "Burl" I can use some tips on this
(2) I was keen on optimizing the start up and running response times. I was asked to post using cmd prompts and scripts to get notepad listings of Start up and running service. I am posting them below and I cannot thank you folks enough for being so considerate.
I have no way of remembering the two commands as I cannot locate the responses to my original message. Kindly help me help myself. I will print your responses to any recommendations the next time

I think you'd have to be logged in as an Administrator to delete a user account. Perhaps the new account you added is not an administrator.

If you're not using TPM, you can disable it in the BIOS and it will shave about five seconds off the boot time.

You might want to PM an Admin about your account issues.

From your description it sounds as if you may have added a folder named 'Dennis' to C:\Users but didn't actually create an account.

Normal method would be to create a new administrator account called 'Dennis' at: Control Panel > User Accounts
(Which then creates a Dennis folder in C:\Users)
Then log out of the current account on the Start Menu and login to Dennis.
At that point you should be able to delete the Burl account at: Control Panel > User Accounts.

IIRC the 'Burl' entry in C:\Users\ will still be there but can now be deleted when logged in the Dennis account

Sorry, can't help with #2.

Even if you delete another user account, there will still be stuff left from the deleted account. Especially if you later make a new account with the old name... you get more junk.

Why not just clean install the machine? Especially if its from ebay...
