Hi, all,

I am replacing my X201T's keyboard, but am overwhelmed with the countless options available.

When the technician removed the keyboard to replace the card reader before I took a photo of the keyboard: Image.

What keyboard would you recommend I order? There are countless listings online and each looks different.

I want one that is not mushy but is rather as good as the original.

If anyone could provide me with a link to order, it would be greatly appreciated!

I live in Kamloops, BC, Canada, too!

Cheers!

There are only two different manufacturers of keyboard for this model. The rest are layouts.

If you want to make sure to order exactly the one you have - just make sure to get exactly the same FRU - 42T3737.

How can I tell which manufacturer I have?

I don't know. Lenovo used to publish this in the maintenance manual, but not anymore.

I've been looking for a replacement for my X201T keyboard. According to the HMM there are two FRU for the US keyboard: P/N 42T3737 or P/N 42T3671. I have the latter and it is terrible. I am looking for a 42T3737 to replace it.

Here is a link directly to the X200T & X201T hardware maintenance manual.

http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc ... 683_04.pdf

Go to page 172-173 of the manual and there you will find the keyboards and their associated part numbers categorized by country/language.

How was your typing experience with the 42T3737? I can tell you that if you are looking for a US style layout the 42T3671 is not very good. I find it flexy and noisy :/

I had absolutely no issues using the 42T3737. The best typing experience I have had with any notebook.

There is another thread here on TPF regarding the both X201T keyboards. I cannot find it now but the OP of that thread seemed to favor the 42T3737. Your testimony gives his assertion more weight. Going to go take a peek at Feebay and see what the X201T keyboard scene looks like there. Thanks!
