X201T Sleep Issue

Merry Christmas!

About two weeks ago I installed in my X201T a 42T3737 keyboard purchased from ThinkPad-Parts.com.

Recently I have run into a frustrating issue!

When I press [Fn]+[F4] to put my computer to sleep, the 'Moon' icon will be illuminated, but the 'Battery' and 'AC Adapter' (If connected) will remain illuminated and the fan will be running. After several minutes the computer will shut down completely, the 'Moon' icon will turn off and when I restart the system it says Windows did not shut down properly.

My battery has a remaining capacity of 4.39Wh and has a cycle count of 1800. Also there is 16GB of hard drive space available.

Could anyone help with solving this frustrating issue? Other than this the computer works flawlessly!

Not really, no. A Keyboard couldn't cause that, though, could it?

Update: Installed the HDD I was using before and the issue continues.

Could the battery have anything to do with the issue?

You have a battery with unbelievably many cycles and a hard disk with almost no free space left.
That together alone might cause your problem.
Start with cleaning up your hard disk, so it has at least ~15% free space, while waiting for a new battery.

I'm using my HDD with it now (Approximately 45% free of 500GB) and the issue still occurs.

I've disconnected the battery, but I'm wondering, How could the battery affect the system if the computer is connected to the AC adapter?

Bad batteries (either old ones, or cheap Chinese knock-offs) could even blow your motherboard!

Well then! If I have no issues with the battery being disconnected does that prove the battery was at fault or would it be only a coincidence?

What are safe replacement batteries or only Lenovo batteries are recommended?

Exactly, bad battery-->>bad problem.
So keep it out until you get a replacement.

That particular one states, "Notice: Please note that this battery is only for laptop , not for tablet. And this item is 11.1V/10.8V, not work for 14.8V or 14.4V battery type."

Anker doesn't seem to have any that support the tablet. Is Lenovo's official battery the only option then?

I installed my old battery I had before this one. It has a cycle count of 1028, and the issue still occurs with it...

Could this be my motherboard? I don't want to order a batter only to find the issue continues!
