Bad things - palmrest screws under the battery. It is impossible
X301 6cell battery won't eject: FIXED, PIC WARNING
X301 6cell battery won't eject: FIXED, PIC WARNING
Finally my X301s have come me. First is normal 1.4GHz and it is almost ok. Second have taken as spares for 1.6GHz mobo. It have broken screen and some more problems... But the main problem - 6cell battery won't eject. When i pull the eject lever on battery left and right latches unhooked and left and right corners can be lifted up some mm. But central latche still hooked:(
Bad things - palmrest screws under the battery. It is impossible
to disassemble mainboard without unscrewing palmrest. the latches brace under the mainboard
What can i do to disassemble Thinkpad without massive destruction?

Re: X301 6cell battery won't eject
Carefully try to remove the battery slider without breaking anything.
Even if you do break it, no big deal.
Because you can use a flat screwdriver to push the internal slider all the way to the left, to get the battery out.
There's no 'hook' in the middle.
After you take the battery out, in some models you see a screw in the top-left corner of the battery bay.
It sits in a line between the letter T from the word TYPE on the bottom-label and the LCD-latch-slider.
In other models, you have to carefully lift up the black plastic foil, to get to this screw.

I have 2 and can experiment with healthy one and find out the things.
On bottom of X301 when battery towards you, you can see 2 rectangular water drain holes. And the left is the KEY to this solution. You must push it to the left (with the flat screwdriver) simultaneously with the battery slider and all latches become free.
See pic.
1 - broken latch. Normally battery's latch pushing this latch and moving all latches (1, 2, 3, 4) bracket to the left. Now i understand why the battery wasn't properly fixed here.
2 - water drain hole - it is part of the bracket and can be moved even when battery is hooked. Red screwdriver is here.
3 - other part of the bracket
4 - central latch (when left is broken this can't be moved with battery slider)
There is one more latch - it is on the right edge of battery.
PS
IMHO - this is not the best design of Lenovo. Very complicated 2 movable latch system with small plastic latches. And it is failure prone
SOLUTION HAVE BEEN FOUND. This topic can be closed.

SOME FUNNY OFFTOPIC
Finally I have built X301 with 1.6GHz mobo in good body and screen from these both Thinkpads. When i was disassembling X301 with 1.6 to get mobo i don't find WiFi where it should to be. Some screws was absent... But when i removed keyboard i have found THIS. Red and blue antennas and the special screw from palmrest (other one was in another hole but was unscrewed)...
May be this addition is more offtopic but making separate topiic for funny image
