What's wrong with this screen? *PIC*

An impact broke my screen, so I bought a replacement on ebay. It arrived, but the backlight did not work. The seller sent a replacement, and this one has a working backlight but now the screen looks like this
Now, I also had to replace the ribbon at the same time, so is this problem a fault with the ribbon or a fault with the screen?
Admin edit: Added PIC warning.

It's the screen. It looks like a Moire pattern, caused by leakage of the liquid crystal fluid into a layer where it should not be.

Is the screen "compatible" or does it have the Lenovo FRU label?

Yep, same FRU as what came out. Also, now the fuse on my mobo is blown...yay ebay.

Can I replace the mobo with a different one (e.g. one with a different CPU) and just plug in my old SSD and have the OS work fine?

Most likely yes. Problems usually only arise when moving a hard disk or ssd to a computer with quite different hardware.

A replacement fuse costs less than a dollar!
Just piggyback solder it on top of the old one.
