X200 Recovery with X220 discs?

#1 Post by Bg357 » Wed Apr 01, 2015 3:27 pm

Can I recover an X200 with X220 recovery discs?

Secondarily, can I take a hard drive out of a working X220 and swap it into an X200, or will there be issues?

Yes. You'll be missing a few drivers but it should work well enough to get you to the point of sorting these out.

My guess is that there would be issues but I've never attempted this myself, so it's just my opinion.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I went ahead and restored it last night and it actually came out perfect! Nothing missing, so far as I can tell. It might be one of the easiest, cleanest restores I've done in a long time.

I haven't tried swapping drives yet. I'll see what happens with that and report back... if anyone cares.
