I have an X220 i7 and it came without Bluetooth. I have a 6205 wireless card and msata drive installed already. What is the possibility of adding Bluetooth to this machine?

All X220 have a bluetooth connector on the motherboard so far I know.

You can buy the bluetooth card (FRU #60Y3271, 60Y3275), then remove the keyboard, the palmrest and plug in the bluetooth in the corresponding connector. Check the HMM for more details: click me!

Thanks, and they're all over ebay for $5 +/-. I'll give it a try.

I did this for the X220T I have in the FS thread. It was very easy to do. Not sure about the X220 BT location but on the X220T it is under the palmrest on the lower right area. IIRC you may even be able to install a BT 4.0 module as well although it may cost more than the 3.0 version.

Same on the non-tablet :)

Before I go ahead and order a BT card from Hong Kong (BT 3.0), I found only one BT 4.0 card. Most of the rest are FRU #60Y3271 for $5 - $7 from HK or China.

The BT 4.0 is eBay item number 261671536621:

Have you ruled out the simple option of a USB Bluetooth adapter?

I move around too much to want something hanging out on the side. I would consider an express card format but it does not appear to exist. It looks like installing the internal card is easy enough.

Installing a BT card is dead easy and super cheap. I can't say anything about BT 4.0 though... :(

Can confirm that Bluetooth 4.0 daughter card (FRU 60Y3303) works perfectly in my ThinkPad x220.
