Is it worth considering the tablet versions?

First off, I have almost no idea about the tablet versions of these laptops.

I want to ask it is worth considering them? I normally ignore the ads with the tablet versions but am I missing out on anything?

I don't plan to write on the screen.

What extra features do the tablet versions have?

On the used market, for the tablet versions, is the price lower or higher?

Any other comments for a newbie?

Then you don't need a tablet, at least not a ThinkPad one.

If you don't need the tablet functions the only advantage I could see is that the screens on them were better than the non tablet versions. But they're all 1280x800 though.

Some versions came with 400 nits panels, they're probably more rare and pricier than the rest

Tablet versions: if you aren't interested in using the digitizer pen (most will NOT have finger touch support unlike current touchscreens), then the advantages are an IPS/AFFS screen on all models (FlexView/IPS screen is rare or not an option on used non-tablet models) so better viewing angles and colours, and typically a higher capacity battery. Disadvantage is extra weight, and tablet version may be more expensive due to better screen.

Don't forget the fact that the screen swivels! I use mine in "laptop mode" the majority of the time, and the flexibility of being able to turn the screen at times is quite nice. For example, when it is in the dock and hooked up to an external monitor, I turn the ThinkPad's screen toward me so that I can see it better without having to rotate the entire dock.
