X220 BIOS 1.39 and later - trackpoint ?

X200, X201, X220 (including equivalent tablet models) and X300, X301 series specific matters only.

X220 BIOS 1.39 and later - trackpoint ?

There is isolated report that after updating X220 BIOS to version 1.39 (current version is 1.40 released this month) trackpoint stopped work. Can anyone confirm that ? I am still with 1.38. Thanks.

I have been using 1.39 for quite a while with no problems on an i7 machine.
Current: 2 x W520 ET, 3 x X220 i7, T420, X230 i5, T420s, MacbookPro, Dell Venue 11 Pro

Same here. I haven't updated it myself, it came with it when I bought it. But the previous owner must have updated it, since the unit was manufactured before 1.39 was released.

I'm using 1.39 and my trackpoint is working fine (with trackpad disabled in BIOS).

Same here, my three X220s have 1.39 as well and the trackpoints work with no issues

I have an X220 that I bought off eBay two months ago. Installed Ubuntu 14.04.2 (LTS) and so far no issues.

It has BIOS version 1.21. Is it worth doing a BIOS update to the 1.39 (or 1.40) version? I am of the 'if it isn't broke, don't fix it' persuasion.
