I just got a second hand thinkpad X220 from Japan. It is perfect, almost new. It quickly became my everyday use laptop.

Since I do quite some photo editing, I read that an IPS display is the solution to get a better colour experience. Is the difference is really huge between the standard display and the IPS one?

I'm hesitating between the following two displays:

X220-FRU-04W3462-IPS
X220-LP125WH2-IPS

If you know a better model please point me out.

I have been told that FRU 04W3919, LG LP125WH2-SLB3 is the latest and best version. You can find this in some other threads related to X220 IPS screens. There are also LG LP125WH2-SLB1 and -SLB2 which may have problems.

Do you suggest me this IBM-FRU-04W3919-LCD instead of the two mentioned above in my first post?

I can't read the language in the link. Keep in mind that the same FRU# could be one of several models. You should confirm with the seller if it is SLB3.

Thanks for your answer. I'm gonna figure it out and buy an IPS panel. I'll post here my findings when I mount it.
