x201s vs x200s
Assuming both have exactly same configurations and batteries, how would power efficiency chart look like? Which one would last longer idle or while browsing(wifi on, middle brightness). By how much?
Also would noise matter? I am not talking about overloading scenarios, just normal office use. Would the difference be noticeable?
Cheers.

X201s is extremely hard to find, never seen one.
I have an X200s with 1440x900 LED and an 80GB mSATA.
On a 9-cell battery I can run it on average about 6 hours browsing the internet.
The battery is already a few years old, don't know details.
The fan rarely comes on, and is quiet enough to hardly hear it.

If it's so rare is it worth of money? Especially compared to x200s with 1440 screen?

One recently sold on the forum, but can't remember the selling price.
Several hundred $$.

Well, how would you rate price compared to lets say used x201 which goes for like $120 on ebay? Without collector/nostalgia fees.
I got an offer, price is yet to be set, I could haggle but in general it would come with dying battery and without RAM and HDD.

if it matters, I have x201. Got in 2011 and it has been running like a work horse! Traveled the world with me, has taken lots of beating, specially on the plane.
I did have to get a non-oem 9 cell battery again about 2 years ago from ebay ($30). You get what you pay for on the battery side.
if the one that you are getting has a good mother board, I would then get it a SSD drive, with 2 4 GB memory sticks and a 9 cell battery from ebay. should cost you around $300. So you are looking to spend about $450 - $500 total. If this is going to be your primary laptop, then I would not do it, spend $200-$300 more and get a new 20X series. If it is going to be a secondary laptop, then it might make sense.
hope this helps.

I would take any X200s or X201s, as long as they have a WXGA+ (1440x900) screen.
The WXGA+ models do NOT have a webcam built in, and can be recognized from the outside by having a completely smooth lid.
See this:
smooth lid
You'd still need to verify with the seller, that the screen in there is indeed a WXGA+.
The WXGA (1280x800) models have a
groove all along the top of the lid, about 1"/2.5cm in from the top.
Only some WXGA can also have a webcam.

IDLE
power consumption almost same on both
noise almost same on both(noiseless or close to)
x201s had fan running all the time @ 2000RPM; x200s sometimes shut fan down, when running also around 2000RPM
temperature on x201s is definitely higher, by sensors just few celcius but when touched, top left corner is more like 10*C or more - huge drawback

Running x200s and x201s side by side I've noticed few more strange things.
Colors in x200s are much better, x201s seems too blue. Didn't try different color profiles yet but that works only for OS. Up to the point that x201s required higher brightness setting to display comparable readability in direct sunlight.
While power usage in idle is almost same for both, with slight x201s advantage, the thing is much more complicated. After loading firefox screen with wifi-on and opening just one site then closing firefox, power consumption changed drastically. x201s started to use more power than x200s and stayed there idle. Is there any explanation for this?

Ran some basic mprime tests on both, side by side. OS was some older Slackware build. Here are results after around two hours in each:
x200s Torture(15)/Blend(3)/Threads(2[max]):
idle without powertop turnables, WiFi ON connected, brightness 5:
consumption 6.59W, temperature 35*C, RPM 0(could jump to around 1900)
mprime without powertop turnables, brightness 15:
consumption 32W, temperature 82*C, RPM 4300(could jump up to around 5000)
mprime with all powertop turnables, brightness 15:
consumption 16W, temperature 51*C, RPM 3674
x201s Torture(15)/Blend(3)/Threads(4[max]):
idle without powertop turnables, WiFi ON connected, brightness 5:
consumption 6.63W, temperature 45*C, RPM 2200
mprime without powertop turnables, brightness 15:
consumption 36W, temperature 82*C, RPM 4527
mprime with all powertop turnables, brightness 15:
consumption 25W, temperature 65*C, RPM 4222
Few more hours of testing raised x200s consumption to around 17W and temperature to 55*C. On x201s consumption remained same but temperature grew to 70*C.
Bit more stressing test, mprime with four firefox websites set to auto-refresh every 30 seconds:
x200s ranges: consumption 23.4-30.6W, temperature 69-82*C, RPM 3367-5124
x200s hangs/crashes after certain period of time
x201s ranges: consumption 27.3-37.0W, temperature 68-82*C, RPM 4522-4600
x201s stabilizes at lower values after same time
