x220i - crack screen

I inherited a broken x220i with crack screen. So the lenovo site used to tell you what parts your pc was shipped with, I dont see that option any more. Anyone know ?

So if that's the case, I'll have to pull the screen out first? Is IPS an option or not for 220i ?

You may want to read other forum posts about X220 LCD replacements, such as IPS etc.

No difference between X220 and X220i for screens as I understand it, you can use TN or IPS, regardless of which it first had. You don't need to identify the exact FRU/part number of the original screen as they're all the same resolution, size and all LED. As you have to change the screen, and the TN and IPS are the same price (eBay UK), I would definitely go for the IPS. There are various compatible screens, so as long as you buy from somewhere that clearly shows the screen fits an X220, you should be fine (I did an X220 screen swap last week).

If it's not too late, I suggest that you order the X230 screen (04W3919) instead. It is a bit better (in theory at least):

Nope, didn't order yet, I actually have a x230 i dont even use.. new in box for 2 years now... ill check my existing one to see if its IPS, if not ill order IPS for my x230 and give my x220 my x230 screen
