Hi folks,

I have a UK model X300 with a SIM card slot that I haven't used for several years. I am heading to Canada (Toronto and then across by rail to Jasper and Vancouver) for a month in September and was wondering if it might be useful to pick up a local data SIM card.

If so, what carriers do a reasonable deal for a data pay as you go SIM card?

Also, I am on Windows 7 and I don't see the device - are there nay gotcha's I need to be aware of. I couldn't see them on the Lenovo site - any pointers?

Or should I just rely on wifi hotspots? Are they pretty widely available?

Thanks

Petrer

It is most probable that the card will be locked to Vodafone UK, so you need to unlock it first if you wanted to use it abroad. But since the OS cannot see the card, make sure it is physically there first, then double check in the BIOS if it is enabled and then try installing drivers.
