Lenovo ThinkPad X301 Keyboard Problem

Hi...I have a Lenovo ThinkPad X301 and am having a problem with the keyboard. A few days ago the letters: J, j, I, i, O, o, P, p worked intermittently. Friends suggested I take my laptop to a computer repair shop to have the keyboard cleaned. (I've had the laptop for about 5 years and never had the keyboard cleaned.)

I did this, they cleaned my keyboard yesterday, all of the the letters are working now, but another problem has occurred...the numbers are not working. The only numbers and characters working in the numbers row are: `56-=. (All of the numbers worked when I brought my laptop to the repair shop.)

I went back to the repair shop and told them about the numbers row. They told me I would need to replace the keyboard. Would anyone have a perspective on this problem?

Thanks!

Hi welcome to the forum.

All I can suggest is to reseat the connector plug for the keyboard. There is only 2 screws to remove the keyboard. Also while you have the keyboard off you can check dust buildup around the CPU fan.
