X220 taskbar power gauge shows dashes--- but Power Manager has all info

How do I make the power gauge in the taskbar show remaining time or percentage?

If you right-click on the battery icon in the lower left and choose one of the options such as "Show Time Remaining on Battery", does that work?

Have you installed Lenovo updates recently? If no, check to see if there is an update for the Power Manager. If yes, reboot and check again. If all else fails, uninstall and reinstall. This has happened to me on a few occasions and any or all of these things has resulted in a fix.
