Hello,
Since I'm a n00b at this...with your kit and a FHD display, does that prevent the display port from working if I want to use a secondary display?

No, it doesn't. However, depending on what interface you use to connect external monitor, brightness control may be lost (fixed at 100%).

So do you mean that if I attach my x220 to a monitor via displayport, I could use both screns (LCD and monitor)? I guess I'm a bit confused because in one of the images, it showed screen resolution showing the LCD monitor with a (1|2).

Pretty sure the LCD is using the docking connector's display port connection points. So it wouldn't affect the side display port's functionality.

Ok now so a million dollar question: will it be able to drive
this baby (or, which ammounts to the same thing,
this).
I don't need to be reminded it's a MBP13 display, and how many chisel hits will I need to strike, just will the adapter work:)

These panels use 4 lane eDP while the adapter only provides 2 lanes. Even more, they require 'external' backlight, which is an absolute nightmаre to deal with when you don't use macbook lid. Any display with 30-pin 2 lane eDP interface will work just fine.

I'm here for one reason. Get this adapter.
I have to buy a X220 Thinkpad yet, but before it I will buy this adapter.
Nitrocaster thanks for this wonderful mod. I'm a Thinkpad newbie and looking for a reliable Thinkpad. This mod makes me to get it fast.
(Sorry for my poor English)

Get an X230 instead, and then put an X220 classic keyboard in it!

Why do you suggest it? I have low budget and usually X230is 50/70€ (80/100$) of difference from X220. Buy a keyboard apart would take 50€ more incl. shipping because in Europe (shipping to Italy) prices are more high.

I don't find the X230 keyboard bad, in fact I like it

and I had already an x200 and t420

Anyway both x220 and x230 with this MOD from Nitrocaster will be killer

with this for sure I wont change my laptop in many years to come

Buy both a x220 and x230, swap the keyboard. sell the x220 with x230 keyboard.
If you do it right and have some patience, you won't lose any money and might make some profit even.

The keyboards aren't direct swaps. Dimensions and fitment is slightly different, and the key mapping is different - and is the major obstacle the keyboard BIOS mod for the **30 series addresses. You'd need the reverse for the **20 series to use a **30 series keyboard on them.

Mhmm I think a Thinkpad X220 is enough for me. What do you think is the correct price for a used/refurbished Thinkpad?
Moreover, I'm looking around for a FHD screen, along the previous suggestion of nitrocaster, and I found only one on Aliexpress at th price of 100$.
Any other source to suggest? Because alternatively I have to leave this wonderful idea

Good thought, I was wondering how you'd make a new bezel - or modify the existing one? Mounting points? Are you dropping the webcam or will it still fit? Or is it more like a wish at this time than fully developed plan?

X301 uses dual channel LVDS, so you would need LVDS-eDP converter.

This Sharp idea (with LQ133M1JW03) is an exact recreation of 51nb's "x320" computer. So I don't need to wonder whether it will fit, the Chinese have already proven that much. The mounting points, meh, will find something.
You see 51nb preferred to sell those as complete machines. It is obvious, that with nitrocaster's kit, one can build one at home. Perhaps the only risky part seems bezel cutting, but as the bezel is 15$, no biggie.
However, all this fun needs to start by obtaining the kit. Without that, no can do. So unless I get the kit, I'm not commencing any preparations.

Thinking out loud, it would be good to have a list of panels that may work, so far two are known:
- LP125WF2-SPB3
- B125HAN02.0
Lurking for the first above I contacted an eBay seller and he replied they have LP125WF2-
SPB1 in stock, would that one work too? Checking panelook.com seems the specs are similar
