Lurking for the first above I contacted an eBay seller and he replied they have LP125WF2-SPB1 in stock, would that one work too? Checking panelook.com seems the specs are similar

Always thanks Nitro!
Two noob questions:
- This screen will work also under Ubuntu and OSX(Hackintosh)?
- The ebay seller you suggested sends compatible model, as it's written in the item description. It's the same or not?

I tested it under Windows and Ubuntu. OSX should support this mod as soon as it supports multidisplay configurations.

You need either SPB3 or SPB4. Ask for these exact models.

Funny, I had those same people bookmarked for ages and I only ordered mine on Sunday!
And then nitrocaster confirmed my (right) choice the next Monday!
I told them nicely that my X230 needed an upgrade, but that it could ONLY be LP125WF2-SPB4.
They agreed and the -SPB4 is on its way.
All I need now is the kit, can't wait...
OUCH for the cable delay, as I just now saw.

I can't even imagine what this might mean? A bunch of cables in a box was identified as 'threat'? Really?
There is a really good condition X230 offered for sale for a reasonable price. I really want to pull the trigger on that before gone.. but want to secure a kit (or actually, two) first...

That's China

We can only guess what has gone wrong.

Once I get the cables there will be ~60 kits ready for sale, which I suppose would be enough for some time. If there will be more interest on this kit, I'll arrange a new batch.

Thank you for your effort.
I know display port on the left side keeps working after doing this mod; but
Does display port on dock station/connector work if laptop lid is closed.

That's very reassuring, many thanks. Previously you mentioned 19 kits only, it's good to see the increased number.
I really appreciate all your efforts and keeping us well informed of any silly questions we (I) may have.

DisplayPort/DVI #2 on dock doesn't work with this mod (and with any other FHD mod for X220/X230).

I'm excited...I'll wait to see how the rest of you guys get going with these installs once you acquire the panel/kit. Amazing job nitrocaster. I'm guessing you dabble in electronics for a career?

Any particular reason SPB4 is better than SPB3? Checking
http://www.panelook.com/modeldetail.php?id=25936:
SPB4/SPB3:
cd/m2: 300/400
C/R: 600:1/700:1
Color: 16.7M / 262K
I am not particularly picky of colours (though probably there's no real difference) but would like use the lcd in relatively bright sunlight. Does it mean I'll want an SPB3?

SPB4 is actually 300 cd/m2. Specs on panelook.com are not exacly correct.

SPB4 is not necessarily better than SPB3, but my reasons for choosing SPB4:
- more colors (16.7M vs 262K)
- less power consumption (3.8W vs 5.0W)
- longer life (15K vs 12K)
- brighter is not always better
plus the fact that
nitrocaster had good testing results with SPB4.
