X220t Can't switch on Ericsson F5521gw WAN Module via Fn+F5

I'd really appreciate if someone could lend me hand with this issue, I'm going a little barmy trying to fix it, many days fiddling and searching on the internet to no avail.
The Ericsson F5521gw WAN Module is detected and installed by the OS(Win 10 64bit) and Lenovo hardware scan picks it up but Fn+F5 utility won't switch it on, I can click the button till the cows come home to no avail, the WLAN and BT switches work fine though. I have tried cycling the hardware switch a few times and making sure the WAN module is enabled in the BIOS(it is) but nothing helps. Tried installing all the latest drivers but no luck.
The only thing I can think of is I updated from Win 7 64bit to Win 10 64bit, WAN worked perfectly on Win 7, can't remember ever using it successfully in Win 10, I may have though. One thing I have noticed is no matter how many times I switch BT off it switches back on with a reboot.
Is there perhaps any manual method or app apart from Fn+F5 to enable the WAN?
Has anyone had similar issues after a Win 10 update?
