Black backlight blotches on screen

#1 Post by nxll » Thu Sep 29, 2016 2:21 pm

Hey guys, new member here. I apologise if this is the wrong section but it is a query I have about my X200. I have noticed recently some strange blotches appearing at the bottom of my screen. On boot up and after logging in they are gone but appear about 30 seconds later until I shut down. If any of you know what this is or how it can be fixed that would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.

It looks like every other led is 'turned off'. Someone else will chime in with a possible cause and a suitable fix.

What is your machine's TYPE number. It is written on the bottom of your machine on a rectangular black and white sticker. Example: 3323-CTO. The number helps debug as it'll reveal what hardware is in the machine and, possibly, which display.
