ips screen not recognized in device manager.

#1 Post by thelash » Mon Jun 26, 2017 5:40 am

Last year I upgraded my X220 laptop with a brand new ips screen (LP125WH2-SLT1), and on the first couple of versions of win10 (pro x64) I was able to use the win7 monitor inf file from the Lenovo site to enable correct id and colour etc in device manager. The last upgrade to the creators edition has device manager showing generic pnp monitor and the old ms driver. The win7 driver won't install, and there is no win10 monitor driver for x220 on the lenovo support site.
Not a biggy I suppose as everything works ok for me, the screen looks fantastic compared to the old TN version, and I am not into advanced colour tuning etc; just a little niggle I wouldn't mind correcting if possible.
T430 ips, T440p.

I think there should be a rather generic Win10 Lenovo monitor driver. I believe I have one installed on my T430s, and it detects the display as "Flexview Wide Viewing Angle". Not that it has any practical value, but I will look it up and let you know.

Edit: Try downloading and installing this. It worked for me.

Thanks dr_st. I eventually found monitor inf file updated for win8.1 on Lenovo site which installed correctly in my x220. Could not find one for win10, but no worries as this one gives correct profiles for my screen
