X200 w/ X200s lid?

#1 Post by NadavCE » Sat Nov 11, 2017 8:37 am

I'm looking to get an X200, and I wanted to install a higher-resolution display in it. I learned that the X200s has a 1400x900 display, but I found some conflicting (confusing?) info about the viability of the swap - replacing inverter cables or something of the sort.

So, in order to clear things up, I have a few questions:
* If I buy a complete X200s lid assembly - display, antennas, etc. - would it be a drop-in replacement? I.e. just swap the lids, plug in the cables?
* If not - what is required to install a 1440x900 screen in a 1280x800 X200?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, that's one way to go, an X200 with a complete lid from the X200s/X201s with 1440x900.
It's a drop-in exchange.
It's way too complicated to swap out a screen, especially since they can come with CCFL or LED backlight.

Alternative and highly recommended: contact forum-member Edward Mendelson who has an X201s for sale.

Thanks, that's a load off my mind.

However, I'm getting the X200 in order to Libreboot it, and the X201s is not compatible; otherwise I'd be glad to contact Mr. Mendelson.
