How to tell if X200T has CCFL or LED Screen?

#1 Post by xsixt » Mon Jan 29, 2018 10:39 am

I really just want to find out whether it's CCFL or LCD (Don't care about hte particular screen at the moment)

In the non-tablet versions, this is incredibly easy, pull off the keyboard and the display cable shows the FRU - which is different for CCFL or LED.

However on the Tablet, is it display cable hiding under the green upside down PCB?

I don't want to pull this apart more than I need to!

Cheers.

What's the operating system (if any)? PC Wizard (Windows) from CPUID can tell you the model of the panel, which you can look up online to find out if LED/CCFL.

Run HWinfo and look at the LCD information "xyz".
Search Google for the matching "xyz specs"
E.g LTD121KX6B = LED

in Linux you could try this to get the model number of the screen:
cat /sys/class/drm/card0-LVDS-1/edid
T420 i7 3612QM seabios; T420 i7 3630QM; T400 Q9100 seabios; T61 P9600; T60 libreboot; x62; x60s libreboot, led; x24 xiphmont led

Thanks all - I thought of the software solution after I pulled off the keyboard.

Ran Monitor Asset Info Manager.

Toshiba Outdoor Display, Holy **** this thing is way too bright!

My suspicion was that it was LED. But it's actually such a good display in terms of backlight quality / smooth PWM etc. that I thought there was a slight chance it may be CCFL.

I have a Hydis CCFL in the cupboard, I'm going to switch it but need the CCFL inverter / cable. PM Me if you have any of these parts you want to get rid of.
