X201 + X200 UltraBase = No DisplayPort in Windows 7

#1 Post by SumGuy » Sat Mar 24, 2018 8:44 am

Weird issue here. I have a dual boot setup on my X201 with Windows XP and Windows 7. I'm using a DisplayPort->HDMI adapter to get output to a tv.
In Windows XP the adapter works just fine and the signal is immediately picked up by the tv. In Windows 7 however the X201 will not detect the tv at all. The tv detects that something is connected but gets no signal and the X201 sees no external monitor.

Anybody have this issue before and find a solution?

My best guess is drivers but I've moved to latest 8.15.10.2993 from Intel's site and saw no difference over the one hosted by Lenovo on the X201 support page. XP was using 6.14.10.5384, I'm no sure where to find anything older. Is there a driver for the UltraBase I could be missing?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

X201 itself only has a VGA-port, the X200-Ultrabase has a Displayport.
With a proper converter like this: https://www.amazon.com/DisplayPort-HDMI ... 263&sr=8-2 plus a decent HDMI cable it will work for both picture and sound.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)

Right, I have one and it works just fine on Windows XP connected to the UltraBase. When I boot into Windows 7 however Windows doesn't detect the second screen.
