X220t no backlight

#1 Post by marlinspike » Sun Apr 15, 2018 9:08 pm

My x220t was working fine, I turned it off, put it in my bag, took it back out. Now there's no backlight. Any ideas?

Trying it on an external screen(if possible), re-seating the connections and/or boot it to Linux to see if it works would be no cost options.

Not to be cynical, but it didn't get roughed a bit too much did it?
Heavy books stacked on top of it or the bag itself falling from some height (or worse, being thrown?)

These might cause the back-light to physically crack, so I hope that this is not the case.

--- Back to reality---

A few years ago, my Dell screen (Inspiron 3000 series i3 processor) gave out similarly. I had to open it up, disconnect the planar-display connection cable and then reconnect it.. after this, the screen worked again.

I wish your luck on your repairs.
