I'm looking to upgrade the display on my x200, I heard it's possible to install 1440x900 display on the x200, is this true or is this only for x200s and x201s? Is there a guide I can refer to for this? What is the display model number?
If increasing the resolution isn't an option I might just go with AFFS mod - is there any disadvantages to doing this mod? power consumption any different?
Thanks

Re: x200 display upgrade questions..
Welcome to the forum.
The 'usual' way to upgrade is by transferring a complete lid with 1440x900 LCD onto yours. Done it many times.
The lid itself and its 'innards' are different from the standard 1280x800 lids.
If you go for 1440x900, you will lose the webcam, but gain much wanted/needed screen height.
For an how-to, download the ThinkPad X200 manual from the above HMM link.
I've never done the AFFS mod, so can't help you here.

Thanks RBS,
I'm continually delighted that yourself these forums provide such useful information for decades old hardware. Been enjoying using my x200 (considering libre/core boot), but the screen could definitely be improved.
