I've always dreamed of a lightweight hard case with foam padding inside for my x220/x230. Never found one though.
I travel a lot so its getting banged around in my bag a lot (which is why i love them). I also love running with it in my bag.. not a great idea i know, but after a long days work it feels great to go for a run.
I've tried these neoprene things, but after a while i still find myself losing a corner or little strips of rubber. I just found a bargain and ordered an i7 x230, to swap all my upgrades into. I'd like to keep this one in fabulous condition with all of its corners.
Has anyone ever encountered a thin, light hard case with foam inside of it which fits the x200 / 230 snugly?
I'm tempted to track down a vacuum former and make my own, but i'd prefer to buy one.

I use these black neoprene sleeves. Fits perfectly and is cheap.

I can't imagine these protecting the corners at all which is my main issue over the years. If i could put hard corner covers on this it would be perfect. I wonder how these would fit glued onto the neoprene case?skx wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 9:25 pmI use these black neoprene sleeves. Fits perfectly and is cheap.

Thanks, maybe this would do it. Not totally sure it would fit in my backpack. Is it a snug fit for your x220?RealBlackStuff wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2019 4:08 amhttps://www.amazon.com/Smatree-12-13-3- ... B076Q5S4WV

Actually I use a Marware Sportfolio II, which I initially bought for an X60/X61, but X200/X201 and X220/X230 also fit in there snugly.

It does protect, I am traveling around the globe like crazy, doing >80 flights a year, commercial as well as none commercial [censored] small plane flights. My X220 is my best friend and survived all these crazy countries sitting smoothly with the neoprene sleeve in my abused backpack. It survived desert, jungle and war contexts It is a Thinkpad in the end, and not some cosmetic iBad device! Protection against dust and water is ten times more important if you are continuously on the move than worrying about scratches on the corners. Currently enjoying some holidays in Bogota to move next week to Caracas. Hopefully it will survive the robbery theft risk over thereRoamingAndy wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2019 12:45 pmI can't imagine these protecting the corners at all which is my main issue over the years.
