I know LP125WF2-SPB2 has been successfully used by x250 users but I don't want it, as it has poor color gamut. I would rather continue with potato display I have than wasting money on something which doesn't improve colors. It has been only used as a reference to figure out what would be a suitable option for my x250.

I used to do a lot of display mods and swaps in the old days. I stopped years ago but assuming that eDP displays work like LVDS, the next step is usually to check the pin layout of the mod display and make sure it matches the original display. There are different ways to do this, but I would usually just go deep into the dark depths of the internet and scrape up the datasheet PDF for both the original and mod display and compare the pin layout. Assuming everything checks out, the next step would be to order the desired display, dremel if necessary, install it and hope for the best.
